Chef Félix Belaunzaran runs a traditional restaurant located in a small town in Tolosaldea where the suckling pigs that are roasted are home-produced.
Despite his youth, Félix Belaunzaran had no doubts in 1999, when he decided to remodel the ground floor of the family farmhouse to found Iriarte. More than 20 years later, thanks to his passionate and tireless work, he has placed his house and Berrobi on the gastronomic map of Gipuzkoa. He started with his sister and now his wife, Mertxe, works alongside him, which means that Iriarte has never lost its family character.
His suckling pig, reared on his brother's farm, barely a kilometre from the restaurant, has nothing to envy to those of Segovia and his commitment to the product and the season, together with a philosophy based on tradition, but "with that restaurant touch" has placed this family business on the crest of the wave.
