Patrice Huet
Scientific Director of the Cité du Volcan (Reunion Island, France)
Originally from Reunion Island, he grew up with his head in the stars and his feet on the slopes of Piton de la Fournaise, one of the most active volcanoes in the world.
Patrice has been passionate about the sciences of the Earth and the Universe since he was very young. He completed his university studies in Réunion, Clermont-Ferrand and Paris (Jussieu), where he specialised in Geology, Volcanology and Computer Science. He is a member of LAVE (European Association of Volcanology) and co-founder, with Sylvain Todman and Anne Fornier, of the association "Peuples et Volcans du Monde".
He was instrumental in the transformation of the Maison du Volcan into the Cité du Volcan, a volcanology museum on Reunion Island, and is now the scientific director of this new scientific centre.
